I have a "corrupted" db3 created with POInspect0r 5.6. It displays wrong icons for a category. I tried deleting the category and adding it again with 5.7, but it still displays wrong icon. I guess 5.7 will not fix already "corrupted" db3 files.

Now that you have found the cause of the bug with 5.7, could you please let me know where I could look into the db3 file (with sqlite editor) to fix this problem? I don't want to recreate the db3 all over again.

Thanks in advance.

You don't need to "recreate" entire db, doing any change (for example: add/delete category) will fix that.
I guess it is fixed, here is msg from a dude: "It is working. I tried it with your updated program and now it is working great!" It could be fw related and so...
You can email me for more questions.

Thanks for your quick feedback.

I did exactly that, but didnt seem to fix it. I deleted a root category and recreated all the child categories for it. The problematic category still displays an icon from some other category. I will try to delete this "target" category (which is not the source of the problem however).

Is there any way to deleted the unused icons?

Hi, the problem of db3 innacessible (gray) in the menu navigation, while the details are available after import, appears when I go over the 197 or 198 categories of points of interest. My base is about 120 MB, which can come the problem?

Hi',
I think there is a bug since 5.6 version at least.

In the DB3 Pois Tab ; 'Lang' listbox contains twice en (english) language but not fr (french) language. If this is a mistake, check also if order is alphabetical, because this is written : en / en / es.
fr lang should be written at right position.

Rad'as said...

Lang is not required for custom db pois.

Correct Rad'as. You're right. Thank for your huge job.

Works like a charm! Keep up the good work.
Suggestion for new functionality:
1) Remove (multiselect) POI within a category (so without re-reading the import file)

2) check for multiple entries on the same location (within 50 meters or so) globally within the database, show the list of items found and let the user remove entries of choice.

Yep that would be really great!!! I support that suggestion. Regarding the consolidation of multiple POI sources this function would really help!

I still see incorrect icons use firmware 4020 and map V8
Tried to totally rebuild new POI sections with no joy to see if that reset the icons.
Should I delete and reload the maps and firmware to see if that helps, hopefully I can do that without deleting my music

Does not work with new Databases DB3Z on V5 Maps in USA.

POI Inspector does not see it at all.

Will it work with fw 3696 NA unit?

You need to look at the icon_id attribute on the category_baseattributes table to see which icon_id is used for each category. Then use the poipartition_category_relation table to figure out which category is mapped to which partition_id.

Then correct the icon_id in the
the poi_baseattributes table according to this.

This worked for me and icons then displayed correctly. THe db3 opens OK in poinspector, but I've not had a chance to check whether updating the database in poinspector then maintains the correct structure. This is with v5.7
